A spectacular Gem for the silver come connoisseur! The Lafayette dollar is one of the key rarities to the 1892-1954 “classic era” silver commemoratives. Like all the pre-1930 commemoratives, the Lafayette is scarce in mint state and rare in Gem condition. The early issues weren’t saved and indeed many ended up in circulation. This is spectacular “old school” Gem…very deep original toning…. definitely for the silver come connoisseur. The surfaces are clean, and the strike is amazing. The toning is rich and original.
