A virtually perfect Gem! The two cent is a relatively short series (only 10 years) and 1873 was the last date in the series. And the coin was so unnecessary and unimportant that in 1873 only proofs were struck. Today, those small amounts of proofs are important collector items. This beautiful example has mark-free devices and hairline free surfaces... as perfect as it gets. The color is a gorgeous even brown with some minor flecks of original red.
