Description
One-Year-Only type…and Condition Census! This was the first year for Liberty Nickels. The Mint made a mistake and left off the word “CENTS” to designate the denomination, The mistake was corrected the following year making the 1883 an important “one-year-only” Type coin. So, this one has demand from both type coin collectors and Liberty nickel collectors. Like all nickel coins, this is a very hard issue to find in great condition. Nickel is the hardest metal used to strike coins so full strikes are really rare. This incredible specimen is the best we’ve ever seen….totally mark-free surfaces. The strike is out of this world…full hair, star, And corn detail. The luster is crisp and original, and the color is gorgeous!
