Description

A frosty incredible Gem! This is one of the greatest of all United States coin rarities. The Buffalo nickel series is one of the most famous and widely collected coin series. The 1918/7 overdate is the major rarity in the Buffalo nickel series. This is by far the rarest Buffalo nickel. There are two major overdate rarities for 20th Century U.S. coins, the 1918/7-S Standing Liberty quarter and the 1918/7-D Buffalo nickel. Both are very major, naked eye, “no doubt about it” varieties. Unlike, let’s say, the 1914/3 Buffalo, which is kind of an “imagine” variety that you need to strain to see. This is a rarity and a super important key date in all grades. The importance of this rarity is hard to put into words. And this example…wow! The surfaces are mark-free…no major marks…ZERO! The strike is super bold. The luster is frosty and iridescent. This beauty looks like a 1938-D. Maybe this will give you the idea. We have been looking at Buffalo nickels for 50 years. We have been buying and selling Gems since the 1970’s. THIS IS THE FINEST 1918/7-D BUFFALO NICKEL WE HAVE EVER SEEN! It is one of the best coins we have ever handled
