Description
Frosty white perfection! This is one of the finest Barber half dollars we have ever owned. The 1894 Philadelphia Barber half dollar is a condition sensitive rarity on the very high end. In 36 years, PCGS has graded 422 examples of this date. But of the 422, only three have been graded MS67…that’s 0.007%...less the one percent! This frosty beauty has extremely clean mark-free surfaces. The strike is as sharp as you’d see on a proof. The luster is as frosty as the day it was minted. A 127 year old miracle! The auction record is $46,000 for the specimen from the fabulous Dr. Steve Ducker collection, a set we helped him with a little. A forever coin in spectacular condition.
