1905-O 50C MS 65
|Type:||Barber Half Dollar|
|Category:||Barber Half Dollar (1892-1915)|
Frosty fully struck Gem! The New Orleans and San Francisco Mint Barber halves were not saved at the time of issue and were not collected until after Augustus Heaton published his treatise on mint mark coins in 1893. Subsequently collectors tried to find Mint Mark coins and soon discovered the rarity of many of the D-Mints and O-Mints. The 1905-O Barber half is scarce in all grades and rare in Gem condition. In 36 years, PCGS has only graded 11 examples MS65, about one every three years. So this is a really rare coin in Gem condition. This beauty has clean surfaces and a super sharp strike. The luster is white and flashy. A true Gem!
