Description
An old school Superb Gem proof with rich sea green and rainbow toning! Proof Trade dollars were minted from 1873 to 1885. The 1884 and 1885 are ultra rarities. The 1879 to 1883’s were minted in reasonable quantities and sold to collectors at the start of one of the coin collecting booms in this country. The 1873 to 1878’s were minted in slightly less quantities but collectors weren’t active yet and survival rates for the 1873 to 1878 proofs are very low. They are the true rarities of the series. This is a beautifully toned Superb Gem proof!
