Description
Mint State early gold! Most pre-1834 U.S. gold coins hit the melting pot as the gold content of our coins was lowered in 1834 (a preview of things to come!). The population of our country was very low, and there were very few coin collectors. To find a truly Uncirculated early gold coin is indeed a rare occurrence. This attractive 1800 five is mostly mark-free, well-struck and well-centered. The luster was quite evident and totally original.
