Description

Gemmy iridescent luster!! A classic key issue in the Golden Era (1892-1954) silver commemorative series. The “golden era” of Post War coin collecting was 1946 to 1964. The golden era of silver commemorative marketing was the mid to late 1930’s as the U.S. Mint made many commemorative issues every year and dealers promoted the market heavily. Through the 1950s and 1960s, silver commemoratives remained a big part of the rare coin market. They are still avidly collected today, and they have had great price performance in the past few decades. For the silver commemorative market, the key issues are the 1893 Isabella quarter, 1900 Lafayette dollar, 1928 Hawaiian half dollar, and the 1921 Alabama half dollars, and 1921 Missouri half dollars. These are all relatively low mintages, and the pre-1933 silver commemoratives are much harder to find in Gem condition. The 1921 Alabama half dollar has long been a rare high demand issue. This is one of the nicest Alabamas we’ve had. The surfaces are super clean and mark-free. The strike is 100% full. The luster has a great iridescent glow
