Description
Choice frosty white rare date! This one of the scarcer dates in The Barber half dollar series. Collecting by Mint marl was not popular until just before the World War. Consequently, not all dates were saved and today the lower mintage rare dates are tough to find in all grades and Gems are especially rare. This Choice survivor has clean mark-free surfaces a sharp strike (unusual for New Orleans issues) and very white frosty luster. The auction high for this rare date is $108,688 in April 2013.
