Description
Finest we’ve seen! The late date (1940-1946) San Francisco Mint Walking Liberty half dollars are notoriously rare in really Superb condition. The major issue is usually strike. For some reason, the late date S-mint Walkers are almost always really weakly struck. We are now big fans of the classic issues; Buffalo nickels, Mercury dimes, Standing Liberty quarters, and Walking Liberty half dollars. These classics are currently really reasonably prices and we fell their long term potential is fantastic. Th key dates for the late date Walkers are the 1940-S, 1941-S, 1942-S, 1943-S, and 1944-S. They are all very rare in Gem condition and super rare in Superb condition. This amazing 1943-S is the finest we have ever seen. The surfaces are totally mark-free. The luster is white and frosty with a hint of light golden patina. What’s really amazing is the strike. This specimen is 100% fully struck, the sharpest we have ever seen for a 1943-S. This is a coin for someone who wants the best of the best!
