From a mintage of 233,461 pieces, the 1883 Liberty half eagle is surprisingly difficult to locate in high grade, although circulated examples remain plentiful This attractive Gem displays pleasing peach-gold surfaces with only minor signs of contact. The design elements are sharply detailed throughout, and vibrant satiny mint luster enhances the considerable eye appeal. A true condition rarity, the 1883 is seldom offered in Gem condition.
